As Nigeria and other parts of the world continue to suffer diverse challenges ranging from insecurity, hardship, disasters and others, a group, the English Grand Lodge for West Africa popularly known as AMORC has advocated for love and mutual respect towards one another as solution to ending the challenges.
AMORC said many of the issues facing the country including division and social unrest, sterns from a lack of mutual concern and understanding.
President of the Board of Directors of the group, Eugenius Idiodi stated this while speaking with journalists at the 2024 AMORC Convention with the theme “Universal Love”, held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, yesterday.
Idiodi, noted the need for Nigerians to come together and build a nation bond by love and the spirit of unity, adding that the convention’s message of universal love is a direct response to the challenges.
“In Nigeria as in many parts of the world, there is problem across several aspects of society.
Many of this issues trace back to the fundamental lack of concern for one another. Our convention’s message of universal love is a direct response to this crisis.
We are advocating for a shift, a movement that encourages us to see each other as brothers and sisters all striving for the same goal of unity, peace, progress, prosperity and by that we can overcome this sense of fragmentation,” he stated.
Speaking on the convention’s theme, Idiodi said embracing universal love would enable the building of a society as an interconnected web where each individuals wellbeing affects the wellbeing of the whole.
He added “When we act with care and consideration for one another, we are also uplifting ourselves, promoting peace, harmony and global wellbeing”.
Idiodi called on members to be conscious of how they impact those around by their actions.
“Through this length, AMORC members and behold all people are called to adopt the more humane and thoughtful approach to life that you act with deep awareness of how we impact one another and the world around us.”
He further explained that the convention is an essential gathering where members unite, re-enforcing a bond of brotherhood and solidarity that extends beyond the individual and encompasses all of humanity.
