Indigenes and residents of Bayelsa, Rivers States, have extolled Dr Samuel Ogbuku ‘s led-Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for the installation of solar lights in their communities and others areas across the nine states of the region.

The residents made this remarks, at the weekend, while speaking with Omable African News in an exclusive interview, held in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

Expressing joy over the current development in the region, they affirmed that the current Managing  Director of NDDC, Dr Ogbuku and his management team, have broken the Commission’s developmental history.

They expressed that though past management teams of the NDDC have also embarked on solar light installation projects, “the current management of the Commission has been exceptional in this area, by adorning virtually every street in all the nine states in the region”.

Waibisema Biowei and Bileye John Kowei; youth leaders in Biseni clan of Bayelsa and Igina David and Lovet Ejekwu who resident in Port Harcourt City, said they were excited that even their communinites benefited from the free solar installation.

It will be recalled that since the present management team was commissioned in November, 2022, it embarked on rapid installation of not only solar lights, but also executed numerous projects on solar boreholes, roads, bridges, buildings and other infrastructure across the region.

The people of the region have therefore called on the management not to relent in the present stead in their determination to make more impact in developing the human capacity and infrastructure of the Niger Delta.
