The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the rescue of a 12 years old girl abducted at the GRA axis of Port Harcourt, state capital.

Omable African News gathered that before the abduction, the suspect tried to verify the sexual status of the victim, by asking if she is still a virgin.

The victim, Bright was rescued by residents of the area from the suspected child trafficker around Evergreen junction GRA phase 3, Port Harcourt.

Mother of the victim, Ms Comfort Etim who spoke with journalists on the incident disclosed “I was at Mile 3, someone called me that they stole my child,that a woman stole my child, put her in a car and want to take her away.

“So a brother intercepted the vehicle, brought my child down with the lady. On getting the information, I ran from Mile 3, back to the house. When I got to the house, I saw the lady and we took the lady and my child to Abacha Police Division.

“My child is 12 year old. She narrated to me that when the woman saw her, the woman asked her, if she (child), has slept with any man before, and said no. My child don’t know the woman, and don’t know her too. I don’t even know where the woman is from.

Meanwhile, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko who confirmed the incident, stated that the victim is receiving treatment in the hospital.

Meanwhile, the suspect whose name is yet to be ascertain as at the time of filing this report, is at the police custody aiding in further investigation into the crime.
